The Red Cliffe Lodge

The same year as Spartan Decisions won the President's Writing Award, the same day as Al Heathcock's big book release party for "Volt," my first short story was published and then later nominated for the Pushcart Prize. This story would also get me accepted to the prestigious Tin House Writer's Workshop in Portland, Oregon where I got to study with the adored Aimee Bender.

Unfortunately the magazine that published this went out of business. I would later find this short story listed on a Harvard Reading List.
